Lucie E. Estabrook, CTFA
Chief Executive Officer and Principal
Lucie is a graduate of Husson University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She
graduated from the National Academy for Paralegal Studies and received a Trust Officer
Certification from the American Bankers Association Graduate Trust School. In
addition, Lucie is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA), meaning she has
demonstrated expertise in the areas of financial planning, tax law, investment
management, trust activities, and ethics.
Lucie has more than 20 years of investment, trust, and estate-related experience. She
joined Deighan Wealth Advisors in 2010. Before joining Deighan Wealth Advisors,
Lucie held various positions at Eaton Peabody and People’s United Bank, formerly
Merrill Bank. She is an active member of her community, currently serving as President
of the board of Wellspring, Inc. and as a member of the boards of the Bangor Land Trust
and the Rotary Club of Bangor Breakfast. She also serves on Bangor Symphony
Orchestra’s investment committee, where she is a past board member, and on the
investment committee of Partners for Peace, formerly Spruce Run. Through her
affiliation with the Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute, Lucie serves as an
Olympia’s Leaders Advisor at Bangor High School. She is also a volunteer and foster
parent for Northeast Coonhound Rescue.
Lucie’s day-to-day activities include managing the firm’s strategic initiatives, working with clients, and contributing to the firm’s investment process.
Jenifer L. Butler, CFA®, CFP®
Senior Advisor, Co-Founder and Principal
Jenifer co-founded Deighan Wealth Advisors in 1994. She is a graduate of the University of
Maine at Machias, and she is both a CFA® charterholder and a CFP® certificant. Jenifer has more
than 25 years of professional investment experience and is highly active in the community. She
currently serves on the board of Sarah’s House, where she chairs the investment committee, and
she is co-chair of the membership committee for Rotary Club of Bangor, where she is a past club
president and Paul Harris Fellow award recipient. Jenifer also serves on the investment committee of Partners for Peace, formerly Spruce Run, and she serves on the investment committee of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra, where she is a past committee chair and board member. Jenifer is a past board member of Penobscot Theatre Company, among other organizations.
Jenifer’s day-to-day activities include working with clients, contributing to the firm’s investment process, and managing the firm’s marketing activities.
Jennifer L. Eastman, JD
Chief Operations Officer and Principal
Jennifer joined Deighan Wealth Advisors in 2019 as a principal, having been a partner at the law
firm of Rudman Winchell. She has practiced in estate planning, trust administration, and elder
law for over 15 years and was recognized as a Best Lawyer in America 2016-2019 in the practice of
elder law. She is a graduate of Arizona State University and the College of William & Mary Law
School, and she is currently enrolled in the Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) program.
Jennifer currently serves on the boards of the Bangor Boys and Girls Club and Penobscot
Community Health Care, and she is a member of the investment committee at Partners for
Peace. She is a past board member of the Maine Women’s Fund and the American Folk Festival,
and she was a founding board member of Bangor Roller Derby and Central Maine Roller Derby.
Jennifer’s day-to-day activities include working with clients, managing the firm’s operations, contributing to the firm’s investment process, and managing the firm’s compliance program.
Matthew T. Skaves, CFA®
Chief Investment Officer
Matt is a graduate of the University of Maine with a Master of Business Administration
in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts in English. He is also a graduate of the University of
Maine Honors College. Matt is a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) charterholder,
having passed three, six-hour examinations that are widely considered the most rigorous
in the investment profession. The examinations cover securities analysis and valuation,
financial statement analysis, quantitative methods, economics, corporate finance,
portfolio management, performance measurement, and ethics, among other topics.
Matt has more than 14 years of professional investment experience. He first joined
Deighan Wealth Advisors in 2006, working both as portfolio manager and Chief
Investment Officer before leaving to become a full-time member of the faculty at the
University of Maine Business School. As Lecturer, he taught various classes in business
finance, portfolio management, and corporate valuation, earning an award for excellence
in teaching and leadership. During his tenure at UMaine, Matt provided consultation
services to Deighan Wealth Advisors, and, in 2020, he rejoined the firm as CIO. Matt is
an active member of his community, currently serving on the board of the Maine
Seacoast Mission, where he chairs the organization’s investment committee, and as
President of the board of Robinson Ballet. He also serves on John Bapst Memorial High
School’s endowment committee, where he is a past trustee. In addition to his past roles,
Matt has provided business valuation and consulting services to Maine businesses and
nonprofits, and he co-owns a photography business with his wife, Lexi. Matt is a
published researcher with a co-authored article in the Journal of Investing.
Matt’s day-to-day activities include managing the investment program and helping to oversee the firm’s technology initiatives.
Tyler D. Hoxie, CFA®
Tyler joined Deighan Wealth Advisors in May of 2014. He is a graduate of the University of Maine where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with concentration in Finance and a Political Science Minor. While in school, Tyler was appointed and sponsored by Senator Olympia Snowe to represent Maine at the U.S. Senate Page School in Washington, DC, where he served as a Senate Page. He is a CFA charterholder. To earn the CFA charter, candidates must sequentially pass three six-hour examinations that are widely considered the most rigorous in the investment profession. The examinations cover Ethical and Professional Standards, Securities Analysis and Valuation, Financial Statement Analysis, Quantitative Methods, Economics, Corporate Finance, Portfolio Management and Performance Measurement. Tyler is an active member of Rotary Club of Bangor Breakfast.
Tyler’s day-to-day activities include account administration, operations, advisor support, investment analysis and contributing to the firm’s investment process.
Alison L. Berube
Alison joined Deighan Wealth Advisors in 2020. She is a recent graduate of the University of Maine where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and her Bachelor of Arts in Financial Economics. While in school, Alison participated the 2019 International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition where the team was awarded 1st Place for Written Reports and 2nd Place for Overall Performance. Alison has been active in the community as a volunteer tax preparer and as an intern at the United Way of Eastern Maine. Currently, Alison is studying to take the Series 65 -Uniform Investment Advisor Law Exam.
Alison’s day-to-day activities include account administration and operations.
Donna Bushey, CRS
Donna joined Deighan Wealth Advisors in 2019, previously working as a Legal Assistant at
Rudman Winchell. Donna has more than 23 years of experience assisting in matters such as
estate planning, real estate, and probate law, and she has prior management experience in the
retail industry and past experience as a bookkeeper.
Donna’s day-to-day activities include reception, administration and office management.
Jean M. Deighan, JD, CFP®
Jean founded Deighan Wealth Advisors in 1994 with Jenifer Butler, after previously holding positions
at FL Putnam Investment Management Co. and Norstar Bank of Maine. She is a graduate of the
American Bankers Association Trust Management School, the American Bankers Association National
Graduate Trust School, the University of Maine School of Law, and Tufts University. In addition,
Jean is a CFP® certificant. After decades of service to her community, Jean has been recognized
with many awards, including the Norbert X. Dowd Award, the Charles F. Bragg Leadership
Award, and the Paul Bunyan Citizenship Award. Currently, Jean serves on the boards of the
Maine Mutual Group, the Maine Humanities Council, the University of Maine School of Law
Foundation, and the International Women’s Forum, Maine. She also serves on the investment
committee of the Maine Community Foundation, where she is a past board member, and the
Maine Tree Foundation, where she is also a past board member. Jean retired in 2020.
